Jill Megan Vasbinder, a professional dancer for eight years, has also taught ballet, modern dance, ballroom and Pilates in NY, MA and CT since 1995. Recently in addition to earning her MFA Degree at Purchase College Conservatory of Dance, she was Assistant Director of Dance and teacher at the Hartt School Community Division. Jill performed with Full Force Dance Theatre under the direction of Katie Stevinson-Nollet and the Lisa Leizman Dancers. She began dancing as a 4 year old at Butler University’s Children’s program in Indiana and continued to Ballet West Virginia as an apprentice and at Baltimore School for the Arts studied with Sylvester Campbell, Sandy Lacy, Sean Curran, and Stephanie Powell. She received her BA from Barnard College, Columbia University in Dance and Anthropology where she worked with Donlin Foreman, Mary Lisa Burns, and Janet Soares and spent a semester in India studying Bharata Natyam Dance. Jill has also worked in Arts Administration and studied non-profit arts administration at Goucher College in MD, and on the side, she makes glass beads and designs jewelry. Jill is currently a guest teacher with University of Maryland Baltimore Campus for Advanced Modern Dance, teaching Dance Appreciation for the Community College of Baltimore County, and a guest choreographer for the Maryland School of Ballet and Modern Dance.
